Student Profile Summary

Student Name:
Horace
Country:
Canada

Horace was a mature student from Hong Kong who had already completed his undergraduate degree at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and built professional experience in digital marketing across Asia.

Unlike a typical student applying straight from high school, Horace was making a bigger life decision. He wanted to relocate to North America with his spouse, stay close to his professional field, and create a realistic long-term pathway toward permanent residency and career growth in a Western country.

Before Consulting with EduviXor

When Horace first reached out to EduviXor, his challenge was nota lack of ambition. He already had great education, work experience, and a clear desire to move to another country. The challenge was connecting all those pieces into one practical roadmap.

He needed to understand which country and program type could support both his career continuity and long-term settlement goal. with his spouse. He did not want to restart from zero or choose a random program just because it was easy to enter.

The key questions were clear: Which program would fit his background? Would a postgraduate program be better than another degree? How should he prepare for English testing? How could he explain his goals during a faculty interview? And how could the study plan connect to settlement and work opportunities after graduation?

EduviXors Approach

We treated Horace’s case as a full life-transition plan, instead of just a school application. The first step was to understand his professional story: his HKUST background, his digital marketing experience in Asia, his spouse’s relocation needs and his long-term goal of building a stable life in North America.

From there, we compared possible study routes and destinations, then focused on programs that allowed him to stay in the digital marketing field instead of moving into an unrelated area.

We helped him build a step-by-step roadmap that included English test preparation, program and institution selection, application positioning, faculty interview preparation, visa planning and settlement preparation.

In the end, the recommended route was a Digital Marketing postgraduate program at a public college in Ontario, Canada. This gave Horace a practical bridge between his previous experience and the Canadian job market. It also gave him a more credible story: he was not escaping his past career; he was upgrading it for a new country.

Destination and Current Status

Horace enrolled in a Digital Marketing postgraduate program at a public college in Ontario, Canada. EduviXor supported him through program selection, admissions preparation, faculty interview preparation, visa application planning and settlement preparation.

After moving to Canada, Horace and his spouse gradually built their life in the country. Today, both have become Canadian citizens. Horace has continued to grow in the same professional field and now works in senior management at one of the largest digital marketing agencies in Toronto.

His story shows why mature-student planning should never betreated as a simple “which school should I apply to?” question. For adult learners, the right education plan must connect career identity, family relocation, immigration direction and long-term employability.

Eduvixor survey shows among 1,000+ overseas graduates, 89% are employed after graduation, 63% secured stable employment within 6 months, and 59% are staying overseas permanently.
